Almost a threefold increase compared to 2021.   <\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fas fa-cogs\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\"><b>15%<\/b> of companies <b>have not yet started<\/b> implementing CSRD, while <b>61%<\/b> are already collecting data for <b>relevant KPIs<\/b>  <\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fas fa-check\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\">In <b>42%<\/b> of companies, there is a <b>sustainability department<\/b> that is <b>primarily responsible<\/b> for the technical, strategic and operational implementation of CSRD. Alternatively, Accounting (30%) is usually responsible.   <\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fas fa-laptop-code\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\">Every other company plans to use a <b>reporting software solution<\/b> to fulfill the CSRD reporting obligation. The <b>most popular tool <\/b>was <b>Excel<\/b> (27%). <\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c303a9e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c303a9e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The study provides insights into the extent to which companies consider the topic of CSRD strategically, which implementation measures (e.g. scope analysis or <a href=\"https:\/\/csr-tools.com\/en\/materiality-analysis\/\">materiality analysis according to double materiality<\/a>) have already been taken, which challenges lie ahead and which departments and persons within a company are responsible for sustainability reporting.<\/p>\n<p>In this article, we focus on the results of the study regarding the use of software solutions for CSRD reporting in companies.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fee014c e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"fee014c\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-db9bdf2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"db9bdf2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Most popular CSRD software<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e3b7982 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e3b7982\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/csr-tools.com\/en\/blog-en\/csrd-explained-in-under-100-words\/\">CSRD requirements for companies<\/a> are set out in the <a href=\"https:\/\/csr-tools.com\/en\/blog-en\/the-most-important-facts-about-esrs-european-sustainability-reporting-standards\/\">European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/csr-tools.com\/en\/?page_id=5120\">ESRS<\/a> comprise 281 pages. That&#8217;s right 281!    <br \/>A market of CSR tools and software solutions has developed in order to meet this multitude of requirements and to record and optimize sustainability efforts in a structured manner.<\/p>\n<p>As the market for CSRD reporting software is currently developing rapidly, according to the study there is <b>a great deal of uncertainty<\/b> among companies as to whether and if so <b>which tool should be used for reporting<\/b>.  <span style=\"text-align: var(--text-align); background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5); color: var(--ast-global-color-3); font-size: 1rem;\">While slightly more than half of the companies surveyed have decided to use software for CSRD reporting, 20% say that they do not plan to use software. Excel, as a widely used and multifunctional tool, offers various <strong>advantages for CSRD reporting<\/strong>: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Costs<\/b>: Excel is included in many Microsoft Office company licenses, so there are often no additional costs for specialized reporting software.<\/li>\n<li><b>Familiarity and user-friendliness<\/b>: Many companies and employees are already familiar with Excel, so no training is required.<\/li>\n<li><b>Flexibility<\/b>: Excel offers the ability to organize, filter and analyze data in a variety of ways. Users can create their own tables and formulas to meet specific reporting requirements. Numerous new digital platforms are currently springing up. <\/p>\n<p>Depending on your needs and choice of sustainability software solutions, dedicated ESG tools can offer extensive <strong>benefits<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Specialist functionalities<\/strong>: These software solutions are specially developed for sustainability reports and often contain specific functions that simplify the reporting process.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Consistency and standardization<\/strong>: Ready-made templates and guidelines can ensure consistency across different reports and time periods.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Automated data integration<\/strong>: The comprehensive sustainability management platforms can usually import and integrate data automatically from various sources.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Compliance and timeliness<\/strong>: These solutions are often designed to comply with current standards and regulations in the area of sustainability reporting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Access and rights management<\/strong>: Enables differentiated assignment of editing and access rights for different users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, a dedicated software solution can also have <strong>disadvantages for a company<\/strong>. In addition to the additional costs for such specialized software, employees need to be trained to use the software, which can be inefficient, at least in the short term. Not all CSRD tools are fully compatible or can be integrated with existing company systems, meaning that manual effort is required.
